On the 10th of November 2017, the Epsom & St Helier Trust Board decided to proceed with their plan to remove Acute Services from one or both of Epsom hospital AND St Helier hospitals.
At a board meeting on the 10th of November 2017, despite significant opposition, a whole series of relevant questions being raised, and no satisfactory answers being provided, the Epsom & St Helier Trust board chose to proceed with their plan.
Now the plan will be passed on to the CCGs (Clinical Commissioning Groups) in our area, as it is they who hold the purse strings.
Coincidentally, this plan to remove services such as A&E, Maternity, Childrens, Emergency Surgery, Intensive Care, Cardiac Care and Cancer Care from one or two of the hospitals in South West London is completely in line with the STP (Sustainability and Transformation Partnership) which is currently being promoted by the CCGs.
