  • He worked as a manager in the NHS in Tyneside, Northumberland, and later at Guys and St Thomas'
  • He was a policy adviser to Labour Health Secretary, Frank Dobson
  • He was a policy adviser to Labour Health Secretary, Alan "Bridgepoint Capital" Milburn
  • He was then "Health policy advisor" to Tony Blair
  • He went on to work at US health giant, UnitedHealth where among other roles, he was president of "Global Health"
